About Me

Backstory

I’m a staunch Generalist which is best defined as someone who sees the World consisting of problems to be solved as opposed to subjects to master.

Prior to all the things I do now I spent thirty years developing a pretty solid body of experience in the charity, public and private sector, below are some highlights

OSW

As Strategy then Development Manager I oversaw OSW become the largest employment & training organisation for homeless people in Europe and it being used as a model of good practice by the EU. During my tenure we went from a team of 3 with a turnover of £1m to 13 with a turnover of £6m

Extel had been in the financial information business for over a century having pioneered the first telegraphs for the City Of London and the first cables connecting London to New York. With its prestigious history at the heart of the financial markets, I helped lead the company’s whole scale transition to the digital age part of which involved establishing and directing one of the City Of London’s first online help-desks.

Reuters, I specialised in training city institutions on new online share dealing systems. Among my clients were 'the seven wise men,' a group of eminent economists advising the UK Treasury. This role demanded a deep understanding of financial systems, effective communication, and the ability to work with and educate high-profile clients.
